மன்னார் மாவட்டத்தில் போரால் இடம்பெயர்ந்தோர் மற்றும் அப் பிரதேசத்தில் குடியேற்றப்பட்டுள்ள இடம்பெயர்ந்தோரின் பிரச்சினைகளை ஆராய்வதற்கான விசேட கலந்துரையாடல் ஜனாதிபதி செயலாளர் பி.பீ.அபேகோன் அவர்களது தலைமையில் நேற்று (16) முற்பகல் ஜனாதிபதி அலுவலகத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.
முஸ்லிம் பிரதிநிதிகள் மற்றும் சுற்றாடல் அமைச்சின் செயலாளர் உள்ளிட்ட வன பாதுகாவல் திணைக்கள அலுவலர்களும் இக் கலந்துரையாடலில் கலந்த கொண்டனர்.
அப் பிரதேச மக்கள் சில பிரச்சினைகளுக்கு முகங்கொடுத்திருந்தால் அவற்றை எவ்வாறு தீர்ப்பது என்பது தொடர்பில் விரிவாக கலந்தரையாடப்பட்டது.
இந்த பிரச்சினைகளைத் தீர்ப்பதற்காக ஜனாதிபதி அவர்களின் ஆலோசனைக்மைய விசேட குழுவொன்றை நியமிப்பதற்கும் தீர்மானிக்கப்பட்டதுடன் அந்த அறிக்கை ஒரு மாத காலத்தினுள் வழங்கப்பட வேண்டுமெனவும் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டது.
A Special Committee to look into issues of internally displaced persons & resettled in Mannar district
A special discussion was held under the patronage of Secretary to the President Mr. P. B. Abeykoon to look into the issues of the internally displaced persons and the resettle displaced persons in the Mannar district, at the Presidential Secretariat,today(16).
A group of Muslim representatives and the officials of the Department of Forest Conservation including Secretary to the Ministry of Environment participated in this meeting.
It was discussed in detail regarding the issues faced by the people in the area, and how to solve those issues.
Under the guidance of the President during the meeting it was decided to appoint a Special Committee to solve these issues and stated that the Committee report should submit within one month to the President.
